§ 2-63. Certificate pay for state-mandated certification.

The police officers of the city shall receive the following monthly certificate pay structure for each respective state-mandated certificate, above basic required levels, earned by the police officer, which consists of a maximum of three (3):

Intermediate certificate is worth: ..... $50.00

Advanced certificate is worth: ..... $75.00

Master certificate is worth: ..... $125.00

All instructor certificates shall be grandfathered at one hundred dollars ($100.00). No additional instructor certificates will be issued.

These payments shall be based on the number of certificates held by the police officers at the beginning of the fiscal year, e.g., October 1. No payments shall be made for those certificates earned by the police officers after October 1 and continuing to the end of the fiscal year.

The police department dispatcher employees shall receive the following monthly certificate pay structure for each respective certificate earned by the employee:

Intermediate telecommunication ..... $50.00

These payments shall be based on the number of certificates held by the employees as of October 27, 2008.
